✅ SOLVED Military weapon or tool?

Hi, I found this object on my recent detecting trip to Fort Boise, which operated from 1863 - 1919. The object is hand forged steel. I found lots of cavalry related relics in the same area. Is this a weapon or just a tool of some kind? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I thank its a log roller, but the handle is missing. I have seen some that look like that, but they a wooden handle. Marion

There's a name for them but I've always them a log pike.

Yes, it is a log pike, often used to drive logs downriver. Have people seen gone rather mad that their medieval halbard is a 19th century tool....
