Whitestash, I'll tell you this, "Performance is where you find it." If you find it with the White's MXT, Minelabs Equinox 800, or an old analog 1980's Red Baron, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that "you" believe and are satisfied with what you are using. The MXT is one of the reasons newer model detectors look like they do, the Fisher F-75 or Teknetics T2 are descendants of this machine and all were designed by Dave Johnson. We can't compare many things simple because so much goes into the fundamental operation of any detector design, but we can compare "coils" not sure if your using the good o'l standard 9" concentric coil that came with the MXT, if so go try the 10 "DD coil, if you have that dd coil try the 13" Detech ultimate coil. You will get a slight increase in depth with larger coils but not what you might think. larger coils are better at sweep coverage, especially if your in a field.
