Minelab Excalibur Pinpoint Modification Question

Hello,
For anyone that has had the Minelab Excalibur pinpoint modification performed I have a question. Did you have the cable running from inside of the detector that comes out the back of the detector cap and then goes to the handle pinpoint button on the handle hardwired or did you have the cable installed with a waterproof connector near the handle that you can disconnect?

Mine is external and is tied to the coil cable until it gets to the handle. Then it goes into the lower part of the handle. My switch is a push button type, not a toggle. It's all hardwired, no connectors.

No connectors on my excas, pinpoint mod is hardwired into the motherboard.
