Good afternoon from southern Cali!
I had a few questions for anyone out there swinging a safari!
what depth are you getting on your machine?
on an air test and taking into account items that you may have dug. how many inches?
Also, any of you out there using it to prospect?
how small of a nugget have you been able to detect with it?
thank you for all your input!
*Update*
Here are some of my numbers while performing a bench test using the stock coil.
All tests were performed with threshold at 5, trash density set to low, and I performed
a noise cancel after every sensitivity adjustment.
-with auto sensitivity a 14K mens wedding band can be identified at about 6 inches. any further than that nothing..
-with sensitivity set at 15 the ring rang in at about 10 inches.
-with sensitivity at 18 the ring ran in at 11.5 inches.
-sensitivity set to 20 ring rang in at 12.5 - 13 inches. but there seemed to be some interference so it would be almost impossible to run the machine with 20 sens unless you are in a big field and away from buildings and such.
I would definitely love to put up a video for other safari owners as there are very few with anything on the subject but i have to get my hands on a decent vid camera!
