Was cracking open some vein rock when I seen this. At first I thought it was of a crystal structure but now I'm wondering if it is a plant root. Or maybe a hybrid, a root that had a mineral deposited on it. Was in a fracture plane of the rock. It is so fragile that it is hard to test without destroying it. Any thoughts?

Drip some citric acid over there and see what happens. Some minerals get a "tarnish", citric acid can clean it up.

Also take it to to someone in the know - if you are lucky - this could be a real nice find. (think: Silver)

Could be minerals that have formed over and around tree roots. The speci does look fragile. Hrm....
