Mini-Dumpster Diving $$$

Yesterday I'm
coming home from the pit called work. I stop into a local gas station to buy a couple of pick threes and the five number game (drawing) at night. This guy at the register is a little self promoting and loud. So I walk to the back the store and go behind where they cook the hotdogs etc. I put my drawing card on the corner and start filling in my lucky numbers.
My eye catches a $10.00 scratch off facing up from this mini waste basket. I'm not proud, so I reach in and take a closer look at it. All the numbers are scratched off.
Guess what? The 15 is also a winning match.
I scratch off the prize...$30.00 lol

So the fever starts getting to me and I start pulling out more scratched off cards, eyeing them quickly. I find another winner $5.00.
The clerk sticks his nose around the corner and says, "What are you doing?"
I say, "I'm eating lunch...here I've got two winners.." lol

You blew it now! One of the best kept secrets until now was the large amount of scratch off tickets that are mistakenly thrown away. People get in a hurry, scratch fast, give it a quick glance and in the trash it goes. A small convenience store near where I work was always good for $20.00 - $30.00 per week. The ashtray next to the door usually had a pile of "losing" tickets piled in it. I am like you, dumpster diving does not always have to be outside. On the way out of the store I would quietly grab the stack of tickets that were there because people were too lazy to throw them in the trash container. Once at work, sitting in the parking lot, I would go through them one by one. Some games were so complex, it was hard to tell if you won or not. I liked those games! Since the economy took a dump, the take had decreased dramatically. The best I ever got was $70.00 on one ticket.

Keep at it, there will be more. But the competition has also just increased for that easy money.
