Missing Dates??in coinage

Was looking in the red book on coins and noticed that from 1811--to--1825 there were no Half Cents made?
Wonder what took place between those dates.??

The war of 1812 might have used up a lot of the copper.....

The answer to this very old question: The half cents coined through 1811 proved to be enough to meet the limited public demand until 1825; ergo, none were minted again until that year.
