Missmatched motors?

I have a 6.5 hp, Keene pump, and air on a 4" dredge. Im wanting to build a really strong 5-6 incher. Is there any reason other than balance, which is an easy obstacle, that I can't use what I have along with alarger motor and pump? Thanks

Match them or drill out a hole for a pressure gage to install on the output sides and feather the rpm to adjust for eveness. You get more plugups and wimpier suction with mismatched inductor psi. If your running a single jetlog jet a Y connector hides the difference as a common feed BUT with a dual inductors much better suction and even pressure helps a bit,and every bit helps. To run a 6" them dual 6.5 will rock 20' a hose easily with rpm to spare. John

If a person does buy a PSI or a Vacumn gauge(for checking water pressure or suction vacumn) for your equipmentt, do yourself a favor and buy the liquid filled gauge to prevent any vibration damage to these gauges. cheap unfilled gauges will vibrate apart over time! AND YEP, the liqiud filled gauges are more expensive,but theylll last!
