I had a great time yesterday in upstate SC & saved some awesome history! My best find was a Model 1859 Union Civil War cavalry spur (enlisted mans model). I didn't even need my detector, it was laying right on top of the ground in a bare batch of dirt! We were hunting a homesite with Civil War activity nearby, it must've been laying there over 150 years, you can tell it's been hit by a mower or something a few times (a few recently too). I'm debating on whether to get this professionally restored or not. I also found an Indian head right on top of the ground too! (Rick says they're jumping out of the ground for me now, I usually do find one!). The ground was really hot & it was tough getting good signals. We ended the day at a spot we've searched before & I found a flat button, harmonica reeds & toe tap. My buddy Chris hunted morel mushrooms & found enough for dinner! That's a great find in any shape. Most of the ones found here are just pieces. Congratulations on a great hunt!

Congrats on the finds Josh.

That spur is really sweet.
