I wish I remembered who posted those pics. They definitely deserve the credit for the work they did into them. :-(
But yeah you never know really. It just takes time of digging trash to figure it out I guess. But if I can stand it this year instead of thumbing the disc, I'm just going to knock out small iron and dig everything else that's repeatable both ways and maybe even some iffy ones. I want some gold!!
Those are mine, pics of just some of the gold I have found.
I always dug one cent signals, (we actually never had any coin called a penny in this country), not just the copper ones but the zinc area cents too.
One reason is because it is actual money and does add up over time.
Here is just one 3lb. container of a few that need to be tumbled, I have dug a lot more.
Over time I have found enough to take the wife and I out to some very nice dinners.
The other reason I dig zinc is because not everything that comes in there are always zincolns...there are way more targets made out of zinc than just that lowly coin.
Not only that, but besides junk items that don't have much worth there are others that can be worth lots more like those Indians mentioned before...and more.
This is the thickest silver bracelet, or chain of any type, that I have ever dug.
Hit he clasp...a dead on exact zinc cent signal all the way and I was shocked when I saw this in the hole instead of a coin.
Another big reason I dig zinc, especially when using my Tesoros, is because of these 5 reasons.

On my Fishers these come in as low zinc, regular zinc cents are about a 61 in the numbers and these range way lower from about 48-52, but on my Vaq and Compadre they come in exactly at that 3:00 area on the disc knob...pretty much the same as a common zinc cent.
Now there is a unique tone that this kind of big gold gives off on a Tesoro, it is nothing like a zinc target at all and definitely recognizable if you have ever heard it just one time but if you haven't, and don't know it, then every zinc signal you come across and decide not to dig could be a mistake until you learn to recognize that sweet, unique tone.
A huge golden mistake.
The first time I heard this sound using my Compadre I didn't know what it was and I thought I was just bending over to dig a zincoln...the second time I heard that tone using my Vaq things were different and that signal stopped me in my tracks and rocked me back on my heels.
It is all about learning and digging and having the time and patience to dig zinc range targets.
I don't dig every one I come across anymore and even I leave a few in the dirt here and there once in awhile, but I have the knowledge to still be able to dig and still want to dig the much better zinc area targets like those large class rings if I ever roll across one.
