Modified Cibola question ~

Hey folks!

Since I didn't already have a Cibola here, I bought a clean used one, specifically to modify. It was inexpensive enough, and sometimes I just have to fiddle around with my toys....

I'm planning on adding a ten-turn ground balance pot and switching the pinpoint to a toggle, mounted underneath, like the Tejon has.

I've been reading how some GB modified Cibolas tend to have the balance point near one end of the pot's range rather than center (around 5 turns). Might this be dependant on the type of potentiometer used; "linear" or "audio taper"?
Might it be possible to better center the balance point by adding a suitable resistor, either in series or parallel with the potentiometer?

Any thoughts on this (besides to leave it alone..)? Thanks.

Not saying mine is right but I did my Cibola on audio. The pinpoint switch was easy except with my hands being so big running the wire through the rod and back out was a pain

Does it balance near center of the range with the audio taper pot, or near one end?

Mine has a Bourne 10 turn and it balances at about 8 turns. Not sure why. But it's OK because if I run into bad ground, negative it the way to go.
It did worry me when I first did it, but I'm not sure why it happens. My vaquero all stock does about the same when scaled to the 3 3/4 turn pot it comes with.
I'm curious to know the reason for this.

Someone once said that it can be fixed to center by adding some kind of resistor in the wire on the way in, but I was so happy that I did the mod and didn't break it that I'm done.
It balances and that's all that's important.
