20160809_141447.webp20160809_141312.webp Finally after countless fragments I found my first complete ammonite. I found it in central Montana by the little town of Winnett along with this septarian concretion which looked like a turtle and small slab with little sea creature tracks or bumps. I was told that they are from shrimp burrows or something. Anyway does anyone have an idea of the specie of this ammonite? Thanks

Boy, that sure is a beauty. Super Find!

Not sure about what species, but it is REALLY cool! I have been wanting to hunt out that way for ammonites for a while now, so hard to get the time and money rounded up to do so.....yet! Congratz!!!

Those are great, I would really like to find one of those large ammonites that are over two feet across. I did see one that was close to three feet wide. I did find one that was a foot wide, but it was broken and missing a few pieces. They are out there.
