I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BEGINNING A LOCAL METAL DETECTING CLUB IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY. SO FAR, THERE ARE 4 MEMBERS. I WANTED TO INQUIRE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS INTERESTED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW BECAUSE WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR SOME NEW BUDDIES TO HUNT WITH. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING INTO HAVING SOME TSHIRTS AND BUMPER STICKERS MADE TOO. IT SHOULD BE FUN AND INTERESTING. I AM WAITING A LITTLE WHILE LONGER BEFORE I FORMALIZE EVERYTHING. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

I might be interested depending upon when and where you meet. Keep in touch.

Hey Tim,
I might be interested. I would need to know the location. Thanks!

I will keep everyone posted on this thread. Thanks for the replies. It would def be a central meeting location in MontCo. We could all have some input on that.

Montgomery County PA.....sorry

Hi! We live in Delaware County, Pa and just got our first metal detectors on Valentine's Day. We tried them out this weekend and had a lot of fun. Our first find was a license plate from 1951! Would you be interested in having 2 newbies join your group? We hope so!

Welcome to TNet NeuBon! Congrats on the new detectors. What kinds are you swinging? I lived and hung all over Delaware Co. and am currently in Chester Co. Good luck to you!

Welcome Neubon!!! Glad to see more people out there enjoying this hobby!

Thanks for welcoming us. We bought a used White's Eagle II (there are some letters that go after this, but I forget what they are) and a used Radio Shack Discovery 1000. We're very impressed with the capabilites of the White's and are pleasantly surprised at what the Radio Shack picked up. Do any of you have suggestions on where we can go (near Havertown, PA or somewhere in Delaware County, PA) to practice and hopefully have a little luck finding something?

For practice try some school tot lots. The wood chips are easy hunting. The play fields around schools also are good places to hunt. You have lots of older parks around your area. i've been checking them out and hope to hunt a few of them this summer myself. Enjoy!

I would try the fields behind the Skatium but read the signs first. I played youth hockey there. You are at the police station so make sure you dig clean and fill your holes there. Check the rules for Naylors Run Park under the tressle on Landsdowne Ave. Lots of Prendie and Bonner kids cut school there. Also check Melson Park off Twp. Line behind the apartments in Upper Darby.

Here's a couple placed to start your research:

That should keep you busy for a bit! Have a beef at the Quarry for me.

Tim,

Let me know if you'd like another newbie to join the group. I've got a dfx and would love some help learning its capabilities.

Thanks,

Chris
