Since The Dark One has been banished from his favorite tot-lot for the time being, he has temporarily sold what remains of his soul hunting an area under construction out here in Denver. He lives there. He may sleep there for all I know. Occasionally he smells like he does. I can only hunt on my days off, and weather permitting. I’m now even starting to feel that he has control over that. He gets sun, I get snow. Dry soil, I get wet. Not content with just altering the weather, he consistently one up’s me. I dig a clad dime, he digs a Rosie. I did a Rosie, he digs a Merc. Merc, he gets a Barber. I finally find a Barber dime, I lose it. (1914-D). First coin I’ve ever lost, while detecting. Never comforting to see a digging partner 50 feet away, staring back at you, and chuckling. I seem to amuse him. Discerning, to say the least. And then there’s the issue of finding tokens. I manage to dig a bent and torn Good for 5 Cents, he’s manages to find six or seven nice, unlisted, perfect specimens. And, please don’t get me started ranting about the gold ring ratio. And then, when I’m not at the site he’ll torture me with phone calls far, far, late into the night, screaming incoherently into the receiver with what new discoveries he’s unearthed. The workers at the site stay clear of him. Grass may never grow where he steps. I just don’t know anymore. So anyway, enough about him, here are my meager finds. Taken together, they would have been one or two great days of hunting. But this was over a two month period. People are finding some real nice stuff here, but you gotta stay for the home stretch. Dig everything. And I mean everything. Hopefully I can piece together from everyone, what they have dug, and compile a list.
