Moore's Bridge
A few old maps and an hour of research lead me to this old covered bridge over the Chattahoochee. Moore's Bridge, built by Horace King in 1832 was burned by the Yanks and this is what is left. I was surprised to see that it was made out of steel. From what I have read, this is original and was not rebuilt after the war, anyone heard otherwise? (I expected it to be a wooden frame) I did many hours of detecting in the area (with permission) but only found plow blades, hoe heads, modern lead and trash. It was a great place to just sit and ponder.
