So my brother and I went back out yesterday to our honey hole and tried a few settings on our detectors and marched along the 100 acre property. We stayed mainly in the area we believed that they camped at based off of reports from the archives and maps as well. We have been getting some super deep iron, bullets and even a coin or two. We spent about 3 hours out there. I managed to get several round balls, one still has the sprue on the bottom of it, two pieces of melted brass(I’ve found several areas where there were square nails with this melted brass this time and last time), and piece to a sabot, and a finial. Then as I was walking past the old farm house that’s fenced off I found a 43 D Merc. My brother has a lot of super nice finds, one rare one and some old coinage. Now just waiting on our super deep coils to come in from Bart. Cannot wait till next weekend. Also I saved most of my trash and ended up laying it in the end of my truck. I need to start bringing my 5 gallon bucket with me for this.
