Found this compass dial at a colonial site. Anyone have an idea about how old? The compass is about the size of an average pocket watch.

No idea on the age or date,compasses have been made for centuries in many styles.That,s very interesting though,and neat too.Maybe search for old or vintage compasses,might come up in a image search.Good luck!
