I posted this a few weeks ago, but decided to take a closer look. I think a soldier was trying to make a game piece, messed it up and tossed it (wild theory I know). What makes me think game piece is the square shape (possibly dice). The bullet is a 3 groove and looks to be hammered (grooves still present on two sides), and attempted to be cut on the remaining sides (no grooves present).

Here is where I think are knife marks where the sides were attempted to be cut.

And here is where I think the mess up occurred (knife mark)?

I think they are tool marks left behind by whatever was being used to cut the bullet. What do you guys think?

Actually that first pic seems to indicate a knife was used to cut what I thought was the hammered side (knife mark on nose of bullet).

No doubt it a carved bullet. Wether he was trying to make something specific or just wittalin we may never know. Nice find

Thanks relic!

Amazing how they would cut into lead and then use the same knife to cut an apple or their food. One way or another, lead would get into their bodies.

It was back when men were men and your organic salad wasn't fit to eat until you shaved a little lead onto it.
