Even though the soldiers are a very cool find, I bet you said a couple choice words when you saw they weren't rolls of silver, lol. I bet some collector would really like to have those in their hands. Thanks for the post.
Hi Creskol,
Once again the walls produce a wonderful treasure. Your platoon consists of the following IRON toy soldiers, all produced by GREY IRON toy company of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. The figures are circa 1933-1942. You have two each #G6 Cadet, two each #G8 Cadet Officer, two each #G24 US Infantry Charging, one each #G12 US Infantry Officer, and one each #G10 US Infantry Shoulder Arms. They were very well preserved considering they are prone to rust! Congratulations and I hope you find the rest of the battalion! Happy Hunting, Sub![]()
Now that is SUPER cool Rob! I don't know, maybe its just me but, given the history of that area and house and the way that was found and the items themselves (and their apparent great condition), I think this qualifies for a banner find - not for the value, but for the uniqueness. I'm voting banner.
Any idea on age?
Congrats to Woody.Another great wall find Guys. You guys can start a salt bag collection soon at this rate.
The bottom row looks like WW1 Doughboy soldiers. I've dug some of those. When I see these figures at antique stores they are bringing about $12-15 each.
I voted banner on your last cash find in the wall and I'm going to vote BANNER on this one too. It's not about the value, it's the fact that you guys found these treasures hidden in the walls, which most of us can only dream of finding. Well done. Great post!!!
Congrats again,
Doug
That's an awesome find, congrats! If it makes you feel better they are probable worth their weight in silver!
Quite the time capsule you have in that house! I don't think you done finding stuff yet!
Would a child be able to hide that where you found it?
