Got back to the field yesterday that I've been hunting for 2 months now and found more silver this go round! No sign of the missing pieces of silver cutlery I found when I was last here, but still some interesting stuff! I also located the stone foundations to what I feel must be a barn in the bottom corner of the field that I've yet to cover. My first find was the decorated brass over lead rosette (too bad it's not complete), then the 1918 Canadian Quarter, the brass horse bell was right on the surface! My last find was the brass push-up candle stem, I've included a pic of a similar example for comparison. :icon_scratch:

Hope to get back here again on Wednesday for an all day affair! :tongue3:
Thanks very much for looking,
Dave

Good place and nice finds. I just love the bells. Found my first one yesterday, and hope I find more.

Very nice finds. Congrats. GL&HH.

Nice finds! I like the brass candle stick.
I see the younger set played in the field and lost their toy car too.
I have yet to find a bell, looking forward to it though!

Best of luck for your Wednesday hunt!

Nice finds and nice pix, you must of got mud all over your phone/camera

Nice variety Dave that button must have been a beauty in it's day:thumbsup:

nice score on the bell and silver…always exciting watching silver come out of the ground, just don't know the age of it for the most part here...

Nice catch on the silver and bell, both show that the site still has some life in it yet. With the + temps that are coming up on us again the soils might be a little softer once again.

Sweet finds congrats

WTG Dave on some more great finds! Don't ya just love digging up history!! Keep at it before you get snowed out!!!

I love the bell, and the silver is excellent--but my favorite piece by FAR is the push-up candlestick stem! SO seldom that those pieces are recovered, and even less often are they recognized as to what they were. VERY well done, my friend!

Thank you for your post MsBB!
This is the second 'Lesney" car I've found in this field, unfortunately they've all bee trashed. :dontknow:

My favourite find is the candlestick as well!
Hope you're still out detecting in Mass,
Dave

I'll tell you Brad, I just got a new Samsung Galaxy 6 Phone and I'm scared to death of dropping it in the mud when I take a picture of the find! :laughing7:
Take care buddy,
Dave

Thanks Johnny, I assume you're talking about the brass rosette?
This is the second one I found here, unfortunately they've both suffered damage. :-[

This is so true my friend!
You want to rub it to see how old it is, but you resist just in case it's a rare one... although it never is! :laughing7:

Thanks for your post,
Dave

Thanks for your post Jim! :occasion14:
I keep crossing the area from different directions, there was obviously a lot of continuous activity here.
I'm heading back again today for at least 5 hrs to investigate the corner of the field where the barn foundations are located.
Dave

Sweet finds congrats

Thanks Mack!

This is the first 'candle stem' I've found, though last year I found the brass finger loop for a candle stand.
The bell is a great find because it didn't 'break off' the leather horse harness as most do.
This one still has the brass attachment at the top, a first for me!

Thanks for your post my friend,
Dave

PS. Here are pics of what I did with the 'candle loop' I found last year! :laughing7:
