After finding an expensive tractor part last week the farmer said we could go on the crops for as long as we like within reason, not needing a second invitation we were of. The field now was totally dry as to previous visits were it was quite wet and a bit difficult to work, fist decent find a 1943 sixpence this field is 37 acres so I don't think we will cover it any were near properly as we would like this year any way. The next find was a fragment of a Silver Ring Brooch I saw a complete one of these fetch ÂŁ2000 looks like another one down to plough damage, later in the afternoon I had my tenth Hammered this year Elizabeth1 Sixpence the fist lizzy sixpence I have found, about ten yards from this I had my sixth Roman Silver of this year a clipped Siliqua (not quite sure who it is), a bit further up the field and I had another piece of Silver in the form of a Crown not quite sure what this from but it looks Medieval, Had about four Roman bronzes but only one had any detail all in all not a bad day for yours truly ;D oops nearly forgot this one :P a nice Silver pendant this ones has a stamp so not that old :-\

Pendant looks Georgian?

I think we are on only 5 hammered this year, 0 silver roman, 49 bronzes.

Another late Siliqua (fits with what I said about the occuption of the site)

Its going to be some months until I get a field like that one. I wish I could join you :P

My detecting partner has cleaned one of the crudy Roman bronzes we have been finding , and guess what :o it turned out to be a Anglo Saxon Silver Sceat, and guess what he cleaned it with :P A Dremel :'(
