Got out this morning and hit the same iron site that I found my Cut 1/2 Reale last week. I put the 5'dd coil on the F75 this time and pulled a KG3 half penny? an Eagle button and few other odds and ends. The 5" really pulls the good stuff out especially when your swinging the F75. The coin ? is pretty much toasted but you can make out the head and nose and a few markings. It evan has the cut marks on it.
Thanks for looking
HH

I must say '' Very nice finds you have there!''. :icon_thumright:

Copperiest looking reale I have ever seen.. ;) Possible counterfeit or different coin all together. Cool nonetheless. Great digs!

Good stuff. I just got a T2 and love how well mannered the little 5 inch coil is. I guess it is the simple fact that you are covering half the iron with every swing in the trash but much less chatter even when sensitivity is cranked up. Shocked me to death at the depth in the test garden. Seems you loose nothing depth wise with it. :icon_thumleft:

Looks like a king George the third copper..nice dig

I have to agree with the others as your coin does not appear to be silver, but likely some kind of colonial copper. Not sure if you can get any additional detail from it, but its worth a try. Nice find just the same.

Hopefully someone can nail down the identity of that copper. The shape of the coin came through a little distorted, but it looks to be a right-facing bust on the obverse.

It's copper...someone put an "X" on the back like some of the other coins we saw and you can see the green on your coin. I wonder if this was because they were no longer used in general circulation. Looks like it might be a George I farthing. Interesting find--congrats!
