Picked up more sterling from my main source yesterday.

-set of 8 salt/pepper shakers "GHF" marked sterling - 8 grams each (no glass, not weighted)
-beautiful sterling TAXCO link bracelet, best piece of jewelry I have bought to date

Probably paid too much for the shakers so I will be happy to get my money back on those but the bracelet should make up for it.

Great bracelet ! What does Taxco mean ? Is there a mark or stamp that indicates a piece is Taxco ?

This pic shows the marks pretty well. You can see the TAXCO, MEXICO, and part of 925. I would highly recommend browsing the taxco listings on ebay and familiarize yourself with this stuff. It always sells well and some of it can be pretty valuable.

there should also be a number of the maker, I had a link to the chart that had the makers info at one time. I like the Taxco, I have found a few in the last few years people left behind

Very nice vintage modernist style Taxco bracelet. Turquoise accents it looks like? You should do quite well. :icon_thumright:

I found some Mexican silver rings yesterday myself, pre-war, ugly as hell though. A couple bracelets too, didn't find too much else. It's hard to tell, but that eagle looks like maybe 1950's to early 60's style mark. Billie Hougart lists the maker "JJ" under Eagle 3 (3 for Taxco) marks in his book "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks". I'm sure you know that the eagle mark is pre 1980 for the most part.

Sometimes the number inside the eagle represents a certain maker. Numbers can also represent cities where the piece was made, 3 for Taxco, 1 for Mexico City, etc. Here is an example of just a few eagle number attributions- http://www.modernsilver.com/SFITEMS.html

Actually, I didn't know any of that info you provided. Thank you!
