I went out yesterday to dig a few pulltabs and roofing nails from my yard. I did find a nickel and a penny (modern). I'm up to $.33 now :) There is a sidewalk from the front door that goes nowhere. The driveway goes to the back of the house. The front door never gets used. Its common in many houses in the country. I found this piece of iron about 6 inches down at the end of the sidewalk. I've gone down about a foot and it still won't budge. Notice it is standing on edge. It didn't fall there. A few inches away (in the shadow in the second pic) there is a piece of angle iron a couple inches lower. I'm thinking cache marker, jar of coins, gold bars. I'm going to have quite a hole before I'm done. I'll keep digging and taking pics.

To be continued

My first find was a cache on my old family farm, I've been hooked ever since. You just never know what old farm lands are hiding. I save all the old junk iron and scrap for an old local junk man that comes around. One man's junk is another man's treasure.

Fencing sounds like a great place to search, beads of sweat always made a farmer pull out his hankerchief to wipe his brow, maybe a coin or two was lost along the way.

Best of luck and keep us posted.
