I went to one of my permission fields yesterday evening. This place is covered with old broken glass and iron. I always thought there had been some sort of mining operation there because of all the brass number tokens I've found there. Never any coins or buttons etc. The iron audio was screaming from all the iron on the at pro when I got a repeating high tone. I was expecting much of the same. Only three inches down there it was. Really? I was pretty floored to say the least! It's my first and only silver dollar. I picked up some of the glass while I was there and added it to the photo along with another number token. Good Hunting!

Thanks, It was on mine also!

The number tokens are called miners tags down here. Each miner had a number and a tag. When he went underground he would put his tag on a peg board and when he came up he would remove it. That way if there was an accident they would know who they were looking for in the rescue. You probably already knew that.lol felt good typing it though

Awesome! Congrats and welcome to the silver dollar club!

Congrats on your first big silver. I got my first Morgan recently too so know the feeling. Well done.

Beautiful coin! A New Orleans to boot!

Beautiful Morgan buddy! Great detail

Sure have been too many silver dollars found here lately without one of them being mine :(

Congratulations!

Outstanding find friend ! Seems like there have been a lot of large silver dollars found lately , but make no mistake about ,it from the
testimony of the detectorists I've talked to and have experienced on T-Net - most will never find one metal detecting !

Congrats schweet dig

Congrats there so hard to come by

Congratulations on your HUGE chunk of silver! Finding one of the elusive silver dollars is certainly a feather in your metal detecting cap. They're not found often but they are definitely out there to be found. It's just a matter of finding an area with enough history and getting your coil over the coin.

Love those Morgans! Almost didn't dig my first, as I thought it was an aluminum can top -

Very pretty girl right there! Congrats!
