I am headed down south in a few weeks to hit up South Carolina and some Tampa Bay, Florida, and I would like to find a good long handled beach scoop. I am tall (6'4") and the longer the better. But I also want something that is going to last a while, but I'm not interested in spending $250 on the best that kellyco has to offer.

Any ideas on the most affordable / longest lasting long handled scoop?

Thanks guys!

yeah, talk to zeke. he makes handmade scoops that are awesome quality at pretty affordable prices.

I have tried many others and now favor The Stealth by Sunspot Products.http://www.sunspotedm.com/beachscoops/

It can be used in all bottoms and they hold up to very hard use and have a long handle.

Hey bscofield, that's where I got mine. They're affordable and durable.I bought a "blemished " one for about 40-45 bucks.Blemished in aesthetic appearance only. It's a long handled one,i'm slightly taller than you so it should work fine.I've put that thing through hell and it still works fine.Ask for Kevin,he's the owner. The number is 1-954-971-6102.

Sandman. That Scoop you favour at the moment looks like it's for use in the water. Like the OP
I'm looking for a long handled scoop. Am I wrong or would a steel handled scoop be better for
dry sand. I like how the Scoop takes a wooden handle! And it looks very well designed!

Also. Can anyone recommend a long handled dry sand scoop that has a digging 'beak' that is
resistant to bending when it's kicked into the odd stone.

I bought from this person. I use in wet, and dry. Cuts through the sand quite well. And is lighter than my others. I don't have to bend over. It wears me out more than carring, and swinging. Here is the Address

Paul, I'm pretty sure that your scoop was made by Kevin Reilly from http://www.rtgstore.com/ I've been to his warehouse where he makes and sells them. Good quality scoops! He makes a lot of them and ships them to metal detector shops across the country.
