Motherlode panning spots?

I'm still fairly new to prospecting..Been out about 10 times.. usually around jamestown or san andreas..Found color but nothing to write home about. I've heard about clubs and gaining claim access through those, but not sure if i'm ready for that or which one to join.

Was wondering if anyone has a claim or knows of a good public area in the CA motherlode??...
