Hesitant to post this but will anyway...I have a lens hood that I made for my camera trap housing and normally works pretty well to keep rain and snow off the filter....This cat came along two nights ago while we were getting high wind and sideways rain got the filter wet....Mixed feelings because of the poor pictures but encouraged because it will probably be back another time.

I guess you can think of it as looking through a wet window during a storm.. Two off camera flashes lit it up.

Thanks for posting the pics. What a privilege to see such a magnificent creature.

Yes,the ones you see are magnificent .... its the ones you don't see

Hard for me to tell but is that the same location as the bob and skunk? The third frame water drop face is cool. There all cool

Thanks Fat, It's the same general area but a different set...In that closest one, I think his face was near a foot from the lens. I used a wide angle Canon 10-22 lens and it was set at 11mm.The first picture he was three feet from the lens.

Glad you did! Great pictures.

I often wonder just how many we have here in IL, and will their population grow? One or two sightings a year right now. Gary

Very elusive cats, well done in getting a pic.
