Morning Surprise

We set up the camera behind our small barn yesterday with the intention of getting a raccoon. We usually have to fine tune settings but this lion was the first customer and was badly over exposed and I had to darken it a lot.

This is basically a large dirt hole set like I used years ago when I used to trap fur bearing critters. The camera was placed at the back of the hole where I had some fish in the hole along with some predator lure at ground level.

The cat looks distorted because it was only about two and a half feet in front of the camera with the 17-40 lens at 17mm.

Awesome pictures of an awesome predator!

Now for me, a great morning surprise is a cougar cuddled up next to me!
