Moving to Indiana

Fairly new to MD. I was just wondering if any one had any info on getting started and what the scene is like in Indiana. I am moving to the Indianapolis area. Also interested in what sort of things are common to the area, any good locations, pretty much any info any one has to share would be appreciated.

try Mzjavert if in indy proper. many of us near indy, but I am new as well.

I'm about 3 hours south of Indy in Evansville.

I'm on the east coast but You will pretty much find a lot of pull tabs, aluminum foil, some iron pieces, clad coins, these are everywhere. You will also find silver coins & jewelry, gold jewelry, relics, so forth if you keep at it and learn what your detector is tell you about the target in the soil.
Then once in a while we get really lucky and find something good like what appears in the banner bar!
Practice digging holes in your yard till you can do it with no trace you were there.
Usually public parks, schools, etc. can be detected but check with others in your area to make sure so you don't get in trouble. DON't detect in any National park, that will get you in BIG trouble!
