With the unusual cold spell that is on us a very small window of opportunity between freezing bouts opened to allow for a hunt. Three forty degree days and a downpour the day before finally thawed the ground. Went back to a farm that Tombac has permission to hunt. Was very grateful to squash my cabin fever and play in the mud. Had about three pounds of the sticky stuff adhering to each boot, that's when you know your in it deep. Found another sweet spot with lots of broken brick on one of the smaller hills. That is right about when the dirt fever hit. The signals were everywhere. What a great feeling when your on signalville, see yah later cabin fever. Sweet worn silver, an 1856 seated dime, 1858 flying eagle penny, 1883 Indian, a cut half cent. A humpback 1973 quarter. I think it had something to do with the minting process. I accidentally dropped the quarter and knocked off the patina, fumble. Wonder whats in the darn thing. 29 buttons in total, a blowhole, 3 tombacs, decoratives, and the largest puff button. Lots of buckles including shoe buckle pieces. Half a jaw harp. Thimble, and smalls. The decorative copper tin was in my dirt pouch, it was closed and complete. It was smashed a little and slightly shredded on one side. I was hoping for an inside prize, nothing but more wonderful mud. Definitely a good day...
