HI ALL , MY BUD DAVE "MUDDYHANDZ" AND HIS CREW STOPED BY YESTERDAY AFTER HUNTING A LOCATION NOT TO

FAR FROM WHERE I LIVE AND TO SHOW SOME OF THEIR FINDS , NOW I DIDNT GET PERMISSION TO POST DAVES

BUDDIES NAMES, BUT THIS IS WHAT THEY SHOWED ME BEFORE WENT POTATO WATCH HUNTING :laughing7:

I THINK THE THE BUCKLE MAY DATE BACK AS FAR AS THE 1850'S AND MUDDYHANDS IT THINKING POSSIBLY TO

THE 60'S OR 70'S. YET WE HAVE NOT RESEARCH IT YET :read2:

That looks like a killer buckle find. WTG on a beauty of a find :hello2: :headbang:

I think the fouled anchor rope will help in dating the buckle. very nice find indeed.

Wow...that's a beauty!!

Great Buckle Hardy :headbang: you have been posting some good stuff lately

Gotta like that!

I'm not sure it's quite that old, but will be checking back in when you date it. I sold the same buckle in perfect none-dug condition about 4 years ago.

UNFORTUNATLY THE 2ND PIECE OF THE BUCKLE WAS NOT FOUND YET!! :read2:

I'm new to buckles but thought that there should have been another peice to it... Good find either way!

Very closely resembles British WWII Navy buckle, might it be Canadian Navy?

That's pretty funny. I remember selling two buckles, one like the one just found, but couldn't think of the second until you posted... which I believe was the other.

Nice looking buckle. You got the important part anyways. Congrats......Hogge :headbang:

To tell you the trueth, i am thinking that its a WW1 buckle , I am sure i saw this buckle in one of my great Uncles house

back east.

There were German Navy buckles from WW I that are also very close in construction, with no crown.

I have seen one example of a Tongue and Wreath (which this is not)with a very similar anchor and crown, that was believed to be associated with the Royal Navy.If I am not mistaken it also came from an 1850 ish site.
