I found this a few weeks ago .I figure it is either an old bike horn or part of some type of musical instrument .I have asked several people and they are split about 50/50 004.webp006.webp

No reference of size but it is either bike or car IMO I lean towards bike. The ball is the mount missing its clamp

I think it's an old motorcycle horn something akin to one of these British ones...

Here are 2 more pictures .It is standing next to a 7 oz soda bottle .And in the other pic notice the brass part inserted into the horn part .I do not remember that the old cheap bike horns002.webp004.webp where that well made

I think we can all agree that it is a bulb horn?

Due to it's age, it could have been used on a bike, auto, or motorcycle. However, due to it's smaller size I believe it was probably used on a bicycle.

As for the quality of it... Once upon a time in this country, things were built to last with pride. Back when America was self supportive. Back in the days when a blue collar factory worker could support himself and his family on a single income punching a clock. Something that doesn't really exist anymore. This ain't no "Leave it to Beaver" world anymore, unfortunately...

Steps off his soapbox

old bulb type horn --either motorcycle or bike most likely --but it could be a early type car horn as well

My first thought was that it was an old style bike horn also But because it was not a cheap excuse for one I was not 100% certain . Even though all of us treasure hunters enjoy finding what was other peoples junk . The junk we find today was not the same as what we have in today's throw away society .I am in agreement with you diggummup .But my neighbor who is much younger the I told me recently "This isn't the 80's ,90's or the 2000's and we are not going back. So get over it" .I have no intention of getting over it Thanks to all for looking and your replies
