It was probally Coke for the $500 dollars. I remember that when I was younger we would win 50 cents, $1, or $5 we never won any of the big prizes. Coke was all my family drinks so it had to be that.

Worth pursuing ...it'll be interesting to see how far you can research this.

My suggestion is to try googling pull tab collectors and perhaps finding a collector to communicate with.

You find the company that was doing that contest and they still pay that prize out, I'm voting banner. Nobody has ever found a pull tab worth that much. I would have a mold made and have a tab poured out of gold.
