My 11 year old son's First Civil War Plated Mounted and Framed. *UPDATE**

Hello all..

I figured that MonkeyBoy Jrs first plate was worthy of more then just sitting there in his display case. I mounted it in a small display case with a write-up about when he found it and the maker's mark and inspection stamp on the back. Digging his first plate just yesterday.. he is already talking about finding another one!! ;-)

Yesterday we had our annual meeting for the non profit I am the president off.. we have some osrt of talk or presentation after the business is done. This year I did a "Relic Show" and history of the colonial and Civil war activity in out town. The first thing I did was call my son up to present his first Civil war plate and talk about it... it all went great!!! Lots of interest and I picked up 4 more place to hunt!! ;-)

One day, he will show you how its done, this is just the warm up. Congrats to the little monkey detecting boy. Thats the age I started but I wasn't lucky enough back then to have a detecting partner. (Dad was to interested in his Stamps)

Way to go dad! that looks great and I'm sure he's proud of it. He'll have

Thanks!! I hunted with my Dad for years.. a lot after he started having medical problems.. great memories.. hoping to give MB Jr the same!!

That is the exact thing I told him!. He sees all the plates I dug.. having just been lucky enough to hit camps early on.. so trying to explain to him that finding any plates these days is really hard!!! I think he gets it.. and I'm going to have him help with the research of the site when I write everything up... start him off young!!!

Tell M.B.Jr that I'm 38 and have only found 'half' of
a plate...(the "S" side)...and what a great job!!!!!
Any way we can get a closeup of the write-up you
put in with the plate?...Just wanting some Ideas.....
