Thanks for sharing your first find. Pretty great huh? Keep hunting

yup, it looks like you found it :tongue3: Just wait for the good stuff to roll in

So tell us a little about yourself. Where from and the type of metal detector you are using.

Great job. Found my first coin last week.

Hi, I'm from Michigan, north of Detroit, with property as well in Lexington, MI and deer lodge TN. Hope to retire in about 3_5 year to spend more time with my hubby and family. I just purchased a tesoro compare. I had no idea with where to start with purchasing a MD, but so far I like this one.

Hey Button Lover,if I was you I would frame it.

That is a good detector to start out with. I was thinking of getting a Tesoro Silver uMax as a backup detector. Just raise up the discrimination to just below a nickel and you may not hear small pieces like that one.

Now you know your "metal" detector works! Now get the good stuff! Welcome to the board and the hobby, it's a great one.

Welcome to T-net,

and thanks for sharing your first find of many,

Happy hunting,

Dan

shame you can't get a better photo of it, because it might be part of a colonial buckle, but can't be sure :icon_scratch:

You know you will only get one of those, that is "your first find" congrats. :hello2:
Mine was a modern nickel.
ZDD

Stay at it if you search you will find the goodies! :read2:
It is all good finds except the pull tabs but the same signal could be a great find?

Tesoro machines are all Good I have bought a Cibola for my starting out a couple of years ago and bought a Silver Umax as a back up and it finds as much as my Cibola.but I have bought another machine and try and selling the Silver Umax on ebay now to fund my latest purchase.
I'm hooked and trying other machines and so far except for having a screen to see identifying numbers I still love my Tesoro Cibola.

Now you are one hole closer to an old mason jar full of silver dollars.

tops my penny :laughing7: keep dign it only gets better :icon_thumleft:
