I was beginning to wonder how long it was going to take to find one this year. At this rate, I'll be lucky to maybe find a couple more.

I'm amazed it was not broken due to lying in a tractor rut section that had been graveled.

The type of point/knife is odd for around here. I've documented mostly dark grey to black flints. Stones where this was found are similar in color, but mostly riverbed limestone with some large plate outcrops containing some fossils.

Any help with rock type & point ID, style, archaeological period, etc. is much appreciated!!!

The dark/broken areas on the side and tip, look like flint to me.

Lastly, the landowner says he has found upwards of 90. I can't wait to view his collection.

It's a beauty and reminds me of the ones Americus used to find. When the landowner shows you his collection see if he will let you get some pics of them.

Nice find , I’m not from anywhere near you so this is a complete guess but check out a type called : Swannanoa if it’s that type the period is early woodland to late archaic , congrats on first point of the year and hope you find a lot more and hopefully you get to see that collection and maybe snap some pics I would love to see them.

You can bet on the pics. I want to know the variety that has been found on this property.

I thought Woodland when I saw it. Glad you were able to find one and I hope many more will come your way.
