My 2015 Top 10 for my $1 bet with Abe

Last Winter Abe and I made a $1 bet who would dig the best top 10 for the year, and here is mine so far... which I will update as the season goes on. I was posting them now just to get it out of the way for when he started hitting his old sites, because maybe I wouldn't feel like doing it then.... but you know, I think I'm going to win this thing! I mean what does he have so far but a couple of old spoons! I'm seriously lacking for coins but just did a whole lot of real good research so now I am going in for the kill. Abe, if you want to send me that dollar now we can just forget all this.

He better start hitting those 1600s sites! I was thinking the same thing just a matter of a few weeks ago... that my 7,8 and 9 would likely be a crotal bell and two jews harps.... but I guess that shows how things can change fast... which is why I don't count him out. Another MA silver would certainly add a lot of weight to his top 10.


I'll be out all weekend trying to bump one of these!

You guys make the spectator part of this sport so...well, I don't have a word for it. I'm sure the Germans do, but I don't know it. Some cross between awe, inspiration, humility, and downright envy. I'm identifying with the inspiration part, mostly.

He has been busy and not out much.... but better shift into high gear once he does! To be honest I didn't know how much I'd be out, and even if so I didn't have much for ideas for early sites, but it's working out pretty good.

My top ten is quite sad this year. Couple dirty old spoons. A few spanish, couple really nice shoe buckles but no real stunners. The spoons I am super happy about just because I think they are very rare to dig complete. But all those nice early military buttons are killer bud. Here's a few of my better finds.
