My 2nd date with "V" this week - She's gotten older though
Tuesday I scored my first dated "V" nickel in the woods at the plantation. It was a 1905 some of you may recall.
Today at lunch I ventured out there again and was able to find Ms. "V's" older sister, Ms. 1902. She was a pretty little thing hiding next to a huge pine tree about 4" deep. I thought it would be a modern Jefferson that maybe a hunter had dropped years ago, but to my surprise it was 106 yrs old.
Yeah Baby!!!
I was also able to recover a deep 3-ringer that barely gave off a signal out there. I was happy to find these that deep out in the woods. It gives me hope that there could be more goodies waiting to be found. Believe it or not, not one shotgun shell today.
I gave the V a hot peroxide bath for a few minutes to clean it. Would you leave it as-is now? I seem to have a knack of over cleaning and making coins worse the more I clean them. This one now has a nice smooth finish on it.
Thanks for looking,
MM
