I was able to buy $500 in dimes today.

$200 in customer wrap, $300 in Brinks clear wraps.

As usual, the Brinks turned up absolutely nothing, but the customer wraps gave me a '63 Roosie and a....drum roll, please....

A '44 Merc!!!!!

This makes my fourth ever Merc. I got one in pocket change in the early 90's, and again in change from a McDonald's this past June. This makes the second Merc we've found CRHing.

I know some folks find huge scores of Mercs, but finding the few that I have, it sure is exciting!!!!

It would be really nice to find a merc in change or even CRHing. Earlier this year I got a nice full date buffalo nickel ('36D or '37D) and I was really surprised by that.

Great find - I'm still waiting on my first Mercury. Perhaps it's at the bank in that box I'll pick up after work! ;D

Congrats on the merc. I avoid Brinks dimes, but String/son machine-rolled have given up dozens of mercs the last couple years.

May the force be with you.

Thank you for the kind replies!!!

It sure is a thrill to get a Merc. One poster here told me once that he has CRH'ed all of his life and still hasn't found a Merc.

I'm still waiting to get my first Walking Liberty. I want one so bad that I have contemplated buying one from the local coin shop. I almost bought one many months ago when silver was at $30 an ounce. Some dude walked into the coin shop, and sold $12,000 worth of Walkers. (FWIW, our local coin shop pays as well as anything I've seen on the internet.) The shop was crazy busy, so I didn't buy one.

I'd love to pop open a box and score one for face value.

For those looking for their first Merc...keep trying!!! They are out there!

All you have to do is keep searching and you will find one. I got a 1945 today. I remember my first one. I have found quite a few so far, and its still a rush to find one again and again. HH
