Hi all,
Got to the famous trash pit this afternoon. Signals were far and few between, but I pulled a little Indian, a bigger Indian, and some wheat to feed the bigger Indian's buffalo. 1 1908 IH, 1 Buffalo Nickel 1915, and 1 Wheat 1919 -S.

I'll get my pics up when the nick is clean. I also found an old pocket knife by my IH. I also did not find any Mushroom hunters or Pudding pies (or any silver for that matter)

The Indian Head is not the age of the 1865 nor the shape of the 1885 which I found earlier this week, but I've decided I really like digging Indian Heads...

I'll also add this was my first day out with new Headphones. My Koss 30's broke a week ago. My B-day present came a few days early -- Grey Ghost NDT's. I really liked them because they stayed on my head.

Hey, we all have those "dry silver" days. At least you took home some nice keepers! :hello2:

Re: My afternoon at the trash pit (No pics yet...)

Congrats on the keepers! That trash pit is the trashiest... and in the best of ways ;-)

Pics added, BTW unfortunately I managed to give the Indian on the buffalo a little shave. I have been having troubles with some reason just with Nickels. Seems I always give them a scratch. Fine with other coins :dontknow:

Great job!!! :headbang: 2 hunts ago when I was hunting with OlderActor I was trying to get as many Buffalo Nickels as I could. I dug 7 40's & 50's Jeffersons, like 20 beaver tails, and just 1 Buff., :-\

Good hunt Jon, picking anything of value from that area warrants high fives from me.

Great finds!!!

Indians are cool - been too long since I dug one.

How do you like the sound of the new phones over the Koss? Is it more crisp & less muddy sounding?

Nice Indian and Buffalo! Way to keep pulling them from that location.

CONGRATS ON SOME KEEPERS!

Nice finds from the trash pit Jon! I wish we could have picked up some Indians today. Maybe next time.

Nice hunt!!

So far I've found close to 30 pocket knives. . . with NO COINS in the general vicinity >:(
you would think there would be at least one coin wedged between the blades. . . or at
least one within a 5-foot area :P

Nice finds p2c. I like those IH ( pennys ) found one the end of last year, it was so worn you could barely tell what it was . They are on my to find list for sure!! WTG

Nice finds, Jon. The Trash Pit whooped my @$$ when I was there. I don't know how long I was there but I managed a buffalo and some wheaties, that's it. I would have really liked to find an IH, I don't find too many of those.

Joe

p.s. No Pudding Pies will be found there. I eat them all. Man, if they weren't so high in fat and cholesterol I'd eat them after three meals a day. Heaven in a wrapper, my friend.
