I was on my way back from Alpharetta GA visiting family and I stopped at the Kroger marketplace to see if the Coinstar had anything for me. Nothing in the reject bin, but on the top of the machine there was a pile of coins! It's crazy that people just leave silver dimes lying there, waiting to be grabbed. If anyone has ideas on cleaning the 1961 dime I'm open to suggestions.

Totals:
2 silver dimes, 1961-? And 1956-D
Brunswick Zone token
$1.00 car wash token
Toasty zincolns

Make a paste out of baking soda and water to clean off the grunge.

Scdigs, baking soda and water does work good, but if you want to get really creative, grab a small tube of Simichrome, it's an aluminum polish/chrome cleaner...just a small dab with a SOFT toothbrush and watch the grunge disappear...you can simply hit it for a few seconds to basically clean it or work it to a show finish. NOTE: I only do this to non-key dates, though the Roosevelt dime (currently) has no key dates...POSSIBLY semi-key. For my dug coins I ONLY rinse them off and pop them into a coin flip with the date and where I dug it. Simichrome can be found at mist motorcycle shops...Ddf

I'm with the others. Just make a little baking soda paste with water and rub it lightly between your fingers. It will shine it up real nice. It will also put fine scratches on it, but its a silver Rosie that is only worth bullion value anyway. Its not like your going to have it slabbed by PCGS or NGC. Nice finds.
