Back in 2003 I bought an Ed Borein Etching from a lady back east on Ebay for $13.50 which included S&H. I spent $100 to have it authenticated. I put it back up and got $1750 for it. Paying for the authentication papers to document it was $$ well spent.

At that time not really. I stumbled on it looking for something else. The seller, way down in the description said she thought it looked like the artist name was Ed Borein. I did a search and up popped all kinds of gallery's with his work. I researched all week and rolled the dice and bid $200 at closing and got it for $12.50. After I got it I emailed some galleries. One offered me $1000 sight unseen. I knew I was onto something. One gallery led me to an expert on his work. That is when I sent it to her for the authentication. Once it was "papered" the price went up. The rest was $$$$ history.
