I finally got something worth posting on today's finds
I went out for a short hunt today when the rain let up for an hour. My first signal was a penny That read 8" deep. I dug for a while and could not find it. After digging a little deeper I scanned the pile and got my beep. My pinpointer located it and I thought it was probably a memorial cent that sunk in the soft mud. I used my thumb to wipe it off a little and THE EDGE WAS GREEN!!! I cleaned it off a little more and bingo I saw the Chief and the numbers 1898. I screamed "HOLLY deleted deleted" so loud I am sure it could be heard for miles. I know this isn't a big deal for most of you because I see you guys posting them all the time. For me thou, It broke my old record of a 1916 wheat and was my first Indian cent. I stood there for 5 minutes looking at it and thinking WOW this is 110 years old. I know its probably worth less than a buck but it felt like I won the lotto. I found another wheat cent 1944, a bullet(not pictured), an a few other things pictured. It started to rain hard so I called it a day to come home and take pictures.
sorry the last 2 pics are blurry
