Finds from a village church yard, witness to much yesteryear foot traffic. The ground was re-sodded in recent memory. I was cruising by and thought I'd stop and search.
The nickles were together deep, among iron bits. My Legend cannot ignore the nickles. The IHPs were lurking around. I cannot recall a better outing for me.
The 1866 Shield, is the first Shield I've found with an intact date. The locomotive pendant looked nothing like a find until closer look. Thanks for the place to share!

The first year (1883) "V" nickel didn't have the word "Cents." Swindlers would gold plate them and sell them to newly arrived immigrants as five-dollar "gold" coins.

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo

What kind of clamps are those holding your detector to the bike? I often detect using an electric bike, but, usually put my detector in a duffel bag on my back.

Some strange ratcheting squeeze clamps I picked up from the big box hardware store.

My nickels never look like that…. Wow! Congrats on some really nice finds.

Congrats on some nice finds. I only have one or two spots to hunt until mid January when deer season ends. Then it will be on until the fields are planted, some in early March and others as late as May.
