It's been a while now but I'm still so happy I volunteered to clean out that office. We were about to remodel an office in a commercial building and someone had to dispose of the things left behind by the previous owner. I always like that part when most don't because sometimes I find cool things. I was told to bring everything that was left to the dumpster. There was a desk left behind that I was thinking about keeping so I was opening the drawers to inspect it a little.besides some paper clips and file folders there was this small box...well when I opened it to my surprise was this wrapped in cheese cloth. "SCORE"

Holy crap, gator! Thats no fl fossil I've ever seen. That's way to big. Might be a t-Rex tooth cast..... Or some kind of dino. Someone might be looking for that. Maybe you should try to find the owner.

I did he died that's why I was cleaning the office.the building owner called a family member of his and they said they had everything they wanted from the office and do with "that thing" whatever you want. If its not a cast its got to be T-Rex or a close cousin.

Does the tooth look fake to you? You have plenty of experience with fossils, so you should be able to tell if it is a replica pretty easy. I personally think its probably fake, but I'm just looking at photos.

It looks well done and the right weight.. the part that looks like its fake to me is the core. The lack of patina and the resin type look. I think its fake but a good one. Even has some enamel on the outside.
