Hello all,

Posting this forum for the first time. Thought i wouild share my collection and today additions. enjoy the pics





These are todays additions dug out from the water of my local lake. I think they are preserved well in the water under the dirt. When the water is low, the wind blows, the water pushes and uncovers a lot. Its an endless giving lake.



I took a friend with me and he had the advantage with his waders and came across this lovely bottle....I need to buy me hip boots..lol

It stands for Applied Color Label. RC

sorry . I should of expand . they are also referred to as pyro glazed . that means that the label is made with fired on enamel .

In the first pics, I see a number of little perfumes- and some nice glass-stopper possibly pharm. bottles. I love the little cobalt perfume samples. None of them have any huge value, and you'll probably end up sorting through them just to keep the ones you happen to like- either for shape, size or color- or any combination of those attributes. Your dump is pretty new. The ACLs- be careful with those. Some people collect them, but only in decent condition. It's a good place to start your collection though- and fun to look up on line. The labels will wash right off! If they're at all damp when you recover them, be sure to let them dry completely, then gently brush off dirt w/ a soft brush or cotton cloth. The first one I ever found when I was a kid, I washed it under the tap and lost the label completely. Bummer. Good luck on your hunts Yakker

Also be careful about digging bottles in that era. I know you said they are in a lake, but generally you have to be careful the newer the dump because there weren't as many restrictions on dumping back then and you could be digging up some unwanted chemicals. I try to stay away from 40's and later and aim for 1800's- very early 1900's. I've found newer dumps from the 50's that looked like they had asbestos all over the place. Coca-cola bottles are always collectible...the ones you have look like D-patents which were mass produced, but still nice! Good finds!
