What part of California, if they teacher is a local history buff he may have brought up some points of interest in your area that she thought she might find something at....

Of course it means you will let her borrow it and she will take it to a historical site, getting it confiscated......nah!

Oh so college level history course. She may have found something interesting then. My recent college history class was settlement of the west. It had a lot of good information, with hers being more specific they may have actually discussed local camps or events and such that other then the historical society the rest of the area might have forgotten.

1. Apparently your daughter has the ability to read...(our California Education System at work)

2. And is able to retain what she has read...(obviously inherited from Momma)

3. And is able to apply her reading skills to prove what she has read is reliable...(also inherited from Momma)

4. Basically, its called RESEARCH ;D

I've posted this many times before with pictures of the finds but there are super hot spots to hunt in Ca. My favorite Spanish reale was dug in southern California. Ca. is especially good for the copper maravedis and old Spanish relics dated from the 1500's to 1800's. Hunt the farm lands when you're not interfering with the crop production. Look for the out-of-the-way farms that require a 4-wheel drive to reach in the general area of the "old Spanish trail."
