My Falcon was going Crazy when it looked at this quarts. So I pulverized it with a 10 pound sledgehammer . Ran it through my Angus Mackirk and sure enough :):) 015.webp024.webp002.webp004.webp

That's why I'm getting a Falcon. I pick up so many rocks and say is that gold or pyrite.

Its a great little MD :) You'll love it ! Also a great time saver when used w/a gold pan.

Did the Falcon make a positive nose on more then one area?

Yes.Total of 5 different 'area hits'. The quarts before I broke it up was about 8"x2" thick.pictured here 023.webp

Very nice results!
Have you tried going to the red ring on your Falcon?
That's supposed to be even more sensitive and is where I use mine.
I think finding an undiscovered rich ore body would be the ultimate.

The Falcon is awesome. Looking back on it now it should have been one of my first purchases for prospecting, right after a gold pan. I hate to think about what I've thrown out or totally missed when I didn't have one.

Yeah I use the red ring setting for thicker rocks. But for checking rocks pictured in post #12 its not needed. Its a great tool :) I also have the extended rod they sell and use it w/the Falcon on beaches that I don't wanna draw attention to myself with.

Before you pulverize, whack it in a few key spots to see how it may split open. If you expose a surface with visible gold, it may be worth far more as a specimen vs. as commodity gold.

That is a very nice specimen. I have seen some like that from Colorado. They were cabbed and way out of my price range. Keep looking and you will be gold rich!

Finally got around to processing the (left half) of the quarts in post #16 :)002.webp
