Hello,
We have been sanded in pretty bad here, but, I am still out and about and giving it my all. Try to hit every low tide I am not working during. Seems any gold dropped is sinking out of sight very fast, in water digging is like a hot knife through butter. I am hoping for some change soon, but, oh well. Lots of sunglasses out there, and i throw out the ones that arent in good shape. My first cell phone came a few days ago, and last night I found 2 more. One waist deep and one in dry sand on the way home.
The next photo has some of my interesting finds. My first necklace! Found that last night, the chain broke at the clasp. It appears to be very cheap matieral, but oh well, It was very shallow in the wet sand, and 3 other people had passed it by, so I was happy with it. The earring(yes, that is ONE earring) appears to be silver, but no markings at all. The handbag thingy is strange. Wife opened it, and it was just 2 pieces glued together. It is very pretty tho
. I did find a sweet toy airplane too, but some old man swindled me out of it. "Oh man! Can I have that to give to my grandson?" I should have growled at him, but alas, I let him have it, sigh.
And then, the neat jewelry finds. The ring on the left is rusted and spins, so its a junker, but, a ring none the less. (I like finding jewelry period, but of course, gold is my favorite of all jewelry). The next ring is a very wide ring, hammered finish, and has a very strange marking inside that I can barely make out even with a loop. So no idea what it is at all. The 2 rings on the right are both silver. I found the one with the amythyst last night, and it made the trip worthwhile . All of the earrings are fakes, but, pretty none the less. Never seen an earring before with hands folded in prayer.
There is one thing not pictured I found, due to its nature. It is a small button, little more than an inch across, with a picture of a naked woman on it. I found it in the dry sand, and I am suprised by it to be sure. I showed it to someone at work, and he said that buttons like this one were worn during WW2 by men at home as a sign of support for the troops. I have yet to do any research myself, but if that holds true, I would be suprised, as it was in the sand.
